On Holy Tuesday, we are reminded of the importance of being watchful, as illustrated in the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13).
The parable is quite straightforward: ten virgins (bridesmaids) await the bridegroom, who represents Christ. Five are prepared for His arrival, while the other five are not. When the bridegroom suddenly appears in the dead of night, only the five wise and prepared virgins are allowed into the wedding feast, while the five foolish virgins are shut out.
